The Queen of Surrey is the main car and passenger ferry moving people, passenger vehicles and tractor-trailers to and from the BC Sunshine Coast.
She makes the trip back and forth between Horseshoe Bay, BC, and Langdale, BC, multiple times every day.
She occasionally needs a little extra TLC and misses a few trips, and sometimes several weeks when she goes in for her yearly refit.
Generally she is replaced by the slightly smaller Queen of Coquitlam when that happens.
In 2019/2020, while once of the “Super-C’s” has been out for extensive repairs due to a crash, the Queen of Surrey has been taking several trips a day between Horseshoe Bay and Departure Bay on Vancouver Island to help during peak times.
The Queen of Coquitlam takes over the Sunshine Coast runs while the Surrey is doing the Horseshoe Bay – Departure Bay run.
On light days (which are rarer and rarer), you can make the trip across from Departure Bay in Nanaimo via the Surrey, race up the hill, and make it back down from the turnaround in time to catch the same boat as it goes back on the Langdale run.
