My personal opinion is that Jackie Mason nailed it.  “The main thing is to get people from 18 to 42 watching your station, and for 18 to 40, [Leno] is considered oldie,” Mason continued, on Leno’s release. “Obama had nothing to do with it; it’s all the age, it’s all the age range. The whole idea is to get the young people to watch, and they assume the 20-year-olds are buying everything and if you’re over 50 you’re buying nothing. They’re too stupid to realize that in fact the opposite is true. How many times do you see a 23-year-old person with a Rolls Royce?”
