There are LOTS of “social media strategists” online these days – and at least half of them aren’t worth their weight in retweets.

Dave Cottrell’s insight:

If you can, learn social media strategy, yourself.  A good education in what you need is the best defense against fake “gurus.”  Then, when your own business reaches the point (and it will) where you need to hand this area off to someone else, you will already know who you’re talking to.  In business, knowledge (doing due diligence) can save you a lot of money and wasted time.
