The disappearance of Flight MH370 has to be the strangest, most mysterious thing that has happened so far in this century, and one of the strangest, if not THE strangest, since powered flight began. There are so many technological reasons for this plane not to have disappeared by any accident. A friend of mine who is a recently retired Boeing engineer, wrote to me and explained the systems, which have redundancy stacked on top of redundancy, to make the accidental and complete disappearance of the Boeing 777 virtually impossible.
