The blood of the martyrs

How pathetic we must look to these early believers when we surrender our convictions for a pittance!

Dave Cottrell’s insight:

Some become martyrs by strapping on bombs or going into battle to kill and be killed.  The Christians throughout the centuries have been killed by their enemies, because they would not give up their faith, nor would they behave as enemies to their enemies.  A soldier who may be a Christian may be called to take up arms to defend his country, but a Christian must never take up arms to defend his faith, nor must he run.  Such would be a denial of faith and a possible indication that it was never real.  How much worse, then, when a person who claims to be a Christian walks away from his church because his feelings have been hurt?
