One of the best ways to avoid getting scammed is first, remember that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. But what if someone is saying you owe money and have to pay? Good article here. Also remember, if a collection agency is phoning you, tell them to get a judgement and have a sherrif deliver it and tell them that if they call you one more time without the judgement, you are calling the police. That will get rid of both the scammers and usually the real ones, too. Know your rights and don’t get scammed.
